As a Registered Nurse, you will gain insights into intricate medical histories, pioneering surgical techniques, pain management strategies, and holistic nutritional support.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass but are not limited to:

  • Delivering direct nursing care.
  • Observing, documenting, and communicating patient conditions as necessary.
  • Developing patient care plans.
  • Administering prescribed medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct nursing care in line with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans.
  • Observes, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate.
  • Monitors and documents patient conditions and the effectiveness and timeliness of care and/or interventions.
  • Evaluates, updates, and revises care plans to achieve planned outcomes.
  • Acts as the primary coordinator for all disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
  • Executes physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluates educational needs of patients and their families, considering cultural and other special concerns.
  • Provides teaching and educational materials as necessary.
  • Validates and documents patient and family understanding of educational content.
  • Maintains professional growth through ongoing education and clinical study.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

Certifications Required:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) must be provided upon hire.
  • Completion of ONS Chemo/Bio course within one year of employment if working in areas where chemotherapy is administered.
  • If working in Adult/Combined Emergency Departments, ACLS certification is required upon hire or within one year.
  • For Emergency Departments, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through AHA is required upon hire or within one year.
  • In Dedicated Trauma Centers, attendance in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) is required upon hire or within 24 months.
  • Attendance in Vascular Access Registered Nurse (VARN) program is required, along with obtaining either Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) or Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) certification upon hire or within a year in PICC areas.

Work Complexity:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to function in a high-stress environment and take appropriate actions.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting is required for acute care roles.
  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience and/or skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience is required for SNF roles.
  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience and/or rehabilitation experience is required for rehab roles.
  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience and/or Emergency Department (ED) experience is required for ED roles.
  • Licensed military RN experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical demand requirements exceed those for Light Work.
