Job Overview

Position Summary
Delta Oaks Group is in search of dedicated professionals to conduct inspections of towers and foundations within the telecommunications sector. The role encompasses a variety of inspection services related to tower structures, maintenance, construction, and foundational assessments. Candidates with experience in collecting field data and understanding inspection methodologies will find this position advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidates will be tasked with collecting structural field data for telecommunication infrastructures under the guidance of the Compliance Manager and Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Climbing telecommunication towers (ranging from 10 to over 300 feet) to execute structural mappings, maintenance checks, and construction evaluations.
  • Conducting foundational assessments for buried concrete components, utilizing non-destructive testing, physical probing, hand augering, and excavation techniques.
  • Completing and maintaining necessary training and certifications to comply with all applicable safety, industry, and governmental standards.
  • Acquiring a comprehensive understanding of codes and standards relevant to telecommunication structures, including TIA/EIA-222 requirements.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Working effectively in pairs with minimal supervision.
  • Preparing detailed drawings and field sketches.
  • Exhibiting strong communication skills and professionalism while engaging with clients, colleagues, landowners, and regulatory officials.
  • Representing Delta Oaks Group with professionalism during field assignments.
  • Utilizing company equipment responsibly and following all safety and maintenance guidelines.

The ideal candidate will develop a solid understanding of telecommunications mapping services and techniques. Given the fast-paced nature of projects, candidates should demonstrate a strong work ethic and effective communication skills.

Software Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 0 to 5 years of relevant experience; experienced inspectors are encouraged to apply.
  • Physical capability to climb telecommunication structures and engage in labor-intensive tasks.
  • Ability to probe, excavate, and drill for foundational assessments.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work outdoors under various environmental conditions.
  • Physical ability to frequently stoop, kneel, and lift weights up to 75 pounds.
  • Capability to interpret telecommunications tower and foundation design schematics.
  • Effective communication skills with co-workers, contractors, and clients.
  • Knowledge of bolted and welded connections is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tower hardware and construction practices is preferred.

Educational Background
A High School Diploma is required. A Bachelor of Science in civil or a related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution is preferred.

Travel Requirements
This position necessitates a minimum of 80% travel.
