Job Title: Associate Category Manager

MSC Industrial Supply Co. is seeking an Associate Category Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Category Management team, you will be responsible for implementing the Category strategy and driving business results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Category team in creating local meeting and sales education materials
  • Engage with suppliers, sales, and customers to understand market trends and landscape
  • Identify new IB and EB item opportunities by working with suppliers, creating gap analysis to competitors, attending trade shows, and working with customers
  • Collaborate with the Category Operations team to implement pricing strategy
  • Support the Category Strategy Manager by serving as the first line of defense for sales support
  • Identify disruptive insights to identify and develop solutions based on the market, customer, and supplier
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team on supplier programs that will tie back to overall category and company strategy
  • Align supplier goals and MSC goals to maximize investment and optimize programs
  • Work cross-functionally to align on program initiatives
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, supply chain, or equivalent area of study
  • MS Office proficiency required
  • Minimum of two years of marketing or category experience required
  • Action-oriented; drives results
  • Self-directed and able to work autonomously
