Position Overview:


Deliver expert financial counseling to patients regarding their financial obligations, aiding in payment options for scheduled services and account inquiries.


Key Responsibilities:

Patient Financial Counseling

  • Assist patients with insurance questions and provide guidance to clarify financial responsibilities.
  • Discuss various payment alternatives such as budget plans, care credit, and credit card options.
  • Facilitate the establishment of new budget/payment plans and assist with hardship applications.

Pre-Collection Activities

  • Generate cost estimates for services, inform patients of their financial obligations, and collect payments in advance.
  • Report unsuccessful pre-collection attempts to the practice.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure confidentiality of patient medical and financial information.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding patient accounts.
  • Stay updated on job skills through training initiatives.
  • Participate in facility compliance and loss prevention efforts.
  • Follow safety protocols and business conduct standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in medical office financial counseling, collections, or billing.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in numerical tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:


Physical requirements include effective hearing and oral communication, vision, mobility, and the ability to handle objects, with a maximum lift of 25 lbs. Average lift is under 10 lbs.
