Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Specialist to join our team at Gateway Community Health Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in promoting healthy eating habits and disease prevention among our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess nutritional needs and develop personalized dietary plans for patients
  • Provide one-on-one and group nutrition counseling sessions
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine patient nutritional needs and develop care plans
  • Develop and implement educational programs on healthy eating and disease prevention
  • Conduct telemedicine visits and provide nutrition education to patients remotely
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines on nutrition and disease prevention
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetics Registration / Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Licensed by the State of Texas
  • Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Diabetes Educator by the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in providing nutritional education and disease management teaching/counseling
  • Active affiliation with appropriate dietetic networks and organizations
