About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist Clinical Specialist to join our team at LMC's 326-bed acute care hospital in Laredo, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmaceutical care to patients, serving as an expert resource to service areas and the Pharmacy department.
  • Contribute to Therapeutic Equivalence Policies & Programs, recommending Medication Programs & Protocol.
  • Participate in medication interchanges (IV to PO), clinical student programs, and clinical adjustments for patient conditions.
  • Perform Drug Regimen Reviews, address Drug Interactions, and provide Drug Information Services.
  • Recommend and follow current approved therapy regimens, provide patient information and education, and continuously develop expertise in Specialty Units medicine.
  • Monitor parenteral nutrition programs and provide Pharmacy & Hospital Staff orientation and training on medications, as directed by the Director of Pharmacy.
Requirements
  • Doctorate or better in Pharmacy.
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience with direct patient care or at least 1 year of acute care PGY-1 residency.
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
  • A.C.P.E. accredited I.V. Certification, Completion of an accredited Residency in a Hospital Pharmacy (PGY1/PGY2).
  • BLS. Encouraged any Board of Pharmacy Specialty certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Residency required.
  • BCOP (Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist), BCPS - Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
