The Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the organization's Benefits and Payroll functions while also engaging in daily employee support and inquiries. Key responsibilities encompass payroll processing, benefits management, onboarding of new employees, documentation of policies, and regular interactions with employees across various HR-related topics.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
General Human Resources:
- Assist with administrative tasks such as compliance training, educational initiatives, and new hire orientation, contributing to team objectives by completing related assignments.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations inquiries, escalating issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Maintain HR documentation on SharePoint, including Department of Labor (DOL) postings to ensure legal compliance.
- Oversee the employee performance review system, providing support and training to staff as required.
- Organize and maintain a personnel record filing system that aligns with GMRI's needs and adheres to current employment regulations.
- Support the implementation, management, and communication of employee benefit programs.
- Provide training and assistance to staff regarding all benefits offerings as needed.
- Execute all payroll entries, allocations, and reporting accurately.
- Collect, input, and verify payroll data for timely processing.
- Maintain payroll systems effectively.
- Generate payroll reports to satisfy both internal and external requirements.
- Keep electronic personnel files updated, including withholdings, benefit deductions, and paid leave records.
- Process payroll for new hires and terminations, reconciling monthly benefit insurance invoices.
- Prepare information regarding employee benefits, including vacation, holiday time, 401(k) plans, and health insurance.
- Assist employees with inquiries related to payroll, including leave accruals, wage deductions, and 401(k) contributions.
- Collaborate with the marketing manager to integrate GMRI's marketing resources into recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes.
- Submit requests for social media promotions of active job openings.
- Utilize content management systems to update job listings, staff biographies, and other HR-related information.
- Coordinate photo sessions for new staff members.
- Request staff biographies and related updates.
- Contribute content to internal communication channels (e.g., digital signage, staff presentation slides, and surveys).
- High school diploma or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in payroll processing and managing confidential information.
- Knowledge of benefits program administration.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff while fostering positive working relationships within and outside the organization.
- Commitment to the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Demonstrated capability to engage effectively at all organizational levels and contribute as a valuable team member.
