Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist II, NICU

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist II to join our NICU team.

About the Role

We are a 350-bed hospital with 142 beds in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), making us one of the largest NICUs in the nation. Our team provides specialized care for women and babies, including comprehensive gynecological services, minimally invasive surgeries, and high-risk pregnancies and births.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate competency in respiratory therapeutics and use of non-invasive ventilators, pulmonary diagnostics, and other equipment required for respiratory care.
  • Maintain accurate and precise documentation.
  • Communicate openly and effectively with healthcare team members.
  • Perform quality control and maintenance of arterial blood gas analyzers, specimen collection, and analysis of blood for gas transport and acid/base determination.
  • Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences.
  • Intermediate floor training as defined on Orlando Health's Respiratory Clinical Ladder.
  • Basic computer/mechanical training required.
  • Maintain license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Florida Department of Health.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
