At Centro Legal de la Raza, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance and Operations to join our team. This key leadership role will oversee the financial stewardship and operational efficiency of our organization, ensuring that we continue to deliver critical legal services, education, and advocacy to underserved communities.

The Director of Finance and Operations will be responsible for financial planning and accounting, grant management, information technology, and daily operations. This includes leading the development and management of the organization's annual budget, overseeing financial forecasting and long-term planning, and collaborating with the Contracts and Grants Compliance team on the financial aspects of grant applications.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance and operations management, preferably in a nonprofit organization. They will possess strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements, as well as experience managing grant-funded programs. The successful candidate will also have supervisory experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the organization's annual budget
  • Oversee financial forecasting and long-term planning
  • Collaborate with the Contracts and Grants Compliance team on grant applications
  • Supervise the monitoring of grant spending
  • Prepare and present financial reports to management and the board
  • Oversee the annual audit
  • Manage IT systems and infrastructure
  • Lead facility management tasks
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the finance and audit committees of the Board of Directors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance and operations management
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing grant-funded programs
  • Supervisory experience
  • Verbal and written fluency in English
  • Spanish speakers highly desired
