Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Associate to join our team at The Community Action Organization of Western New York Inc. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Sanitary Conditions: Ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and free of debris, adhering to high standards of hygiene and sanitation.
  • Monitor and Clean Up Debris: Regularly inspect the exterior of the building and surrounding areas, removing any trash or debris that may be present.
  • Maintain Heating Systems: Perform routine maintenance on our heating systems to ensure they are functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Utilize your handyman skills to make repairs and perform maintenance work as needed, including painting, carpentry, and plumbing.
  • Manage Housekeeping Inventory: Keep track of our housekeeping supplies and ensure that they are always stocked and available.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with our staff to ensure that all housekeeping details are met, and that our facilities are always clean and organized.
  • Report Maintenance Needs: Identify and report any serious maintenance or repair needs to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Model Positive Work Ethic: Demonstrate a positive and professional work ethic, setting a good example for our staff and clients.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Janitorial Experience: Previous experience in janitorial work is preferred.
  • Handyman Skills: Ability to learn and perform handyman tasks, including carpentry and plumbing.
