AVIATION GOVERNMENT SALES MANAGER
SpaceX is enhancing its Government Sales division to bolster Starlink and Starshield functionalities within aviation systems. This position will play a crucial role in formulating sales strategies, establishing pricing frameworks, and securing Starlink and Starshield contracts for aviation applications across both domestic and international sectors, catering to civil and defense requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry and will be tasked with identifying and prioritizing opportunities for the integration of Starlink/Starshield capabilities across various platforms. Beyond opportunity identification, the candidate will be responsible for creating detailed pricing and market assessments utilizing quantitative models to successfully navigate competitive procurement processes. This role encompasses the management of cost and pricing elements throughout the proposal development lifecycle and will involve evaluating and establishing strategic partnerships within the industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide actionable insights through thorough data analysis and present findings succinctly to assist senior management in strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reliable data sources to support pricing strategies and market size estimations.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of complex customer aviation markets to uncover trends, insights, and potential opportunities for SpaceX.
- Formulate and quantitatively validate pricing models for SpaceX products.
- Assist in the creation of intricate proposals, encompassing pricing, strategic direction, and winning themes.
- Oversee the delivery of cost and pricing components for competitive bids.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, customer operations, finance, and other internal departments to drive sales performance and operational efficiency.
- Balance the varying demands of multiple stakeholders in a dynamic work environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data-driven decision-making, strategic planning, data analysis, and/or forecasting.
- At least 2 years of experience in business development, U.S. Government procurement, and/or financial management.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- Master's degree in a technical field or an MBA.
- Direct experience with government aviation markets and/or aviation communication systems.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, ideally within a collaborative team setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to evaluate market trends that suggest business opportunities several years ahead.
- Ability to work efficiently with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience as a management consultant with a top-tier consulting firm.
- Familiarity with both commercial and government space launch and satellite markets.
- Understanding of the Department of Defense acquisition process.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (approximately 20-40%).
- Availability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
- Possession of an active Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance is preferred, or the ability to obtain one. Note that having an active clearance may allow for involvement in sensitive SpaceX missions, subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary range:
Government Sales Manager: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year.
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
