Position Overview:


The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, which includes monitoring, evaluating, and ensuring the quality of medication use, providing drug information, and overseeing the distribution and management of medications and related patient services.


  • Accurately reviews, interprets, processes, and dispenses medication orders and prescriptions.
  • Monitors and manages patient medication therapies to guarantee therapeutic appropriateness and effectiveness, taking into account the patient's age and specific needs.
  • Upholds established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and pharmacy practice standards.
  • Effectively communicates drug-related information to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engages in drug therapy management during medical emergencies by responding to urgent calls, assisting in medication preparation, and ensuring adequate medication supplies.
  • Oversees the daily activities of pharmacy technicians to fulfill the needs of patients and the organization.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science or Pharm D. degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required.
  • A valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.


Ability to exert up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force up to 10 pounds often.
