Position Purpose:

Act as the primary human resources liaison for the School of Architecture, delivering high-level HR support and processing for faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities:

SCHOOL-WIDE: Serve as the main contact for inquiries related to faculty, staff, and student employment, payroll, benefits, and leave management. Act as the primary timekeeper and absence partner for the School of Architecture. Ensure compliance with employment policies through Workday reports. Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation. Engage in HR process improvement initiatives within the School of Architecture, ensuring that websites and guidance documents are accurate and up-to-date. Assist with the annual salary and merit review process and performance evaluations in Workday. Escalate complex HR issues to the assistant dean/chief business officer as necessary. Represent the School of Architecture at various campus HR forums and meetings.

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT: Oversee all student employment processes, including tuition reduction benefits, timekeeping, reporting, and onboarding/offboarding. Serve as a resource for students and supervisors regarding student employment policies, payroll, benefits, and work-study regulations.

STAFF EMPLOYMENT: Manage all staff employment processes related to recruitment, hiring, separations, salary adjustments, and leave management.

FACULTY EMPLOYMENT: Handle all aspects of faculty appointments, including summer teaching, course buyouts, and timekeeping.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field
  • Five years of professional experience in a human resources role
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws
  • Resourcefulness and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to manage ambiguous situations effectively
  • Proven multitasking abilities and project management skills
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and independently

Preferred:

  • Extensive experience and/or education beyond the minimum requirements
  • Customer-focused approach with experience collaborating with faculty and staff
  • Familiarity with Workday
  • Experience in policy drafting and implementation
  • Technological proficiency in office protocols and process innovations
  • Professional HR experience in higher education
  • Understanding of the university's employment policies and practices
  • Interest in architecture, design, or fine arts

Salary Range:

$65,000 + based on qualifications

Working Conditions:
