Job Summary

Georgia Tech is seeking a highly skilled Accountant III to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for verifying and posting financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles and Institute policy. You will also compile and analyze financial data, often complex in structure, and generate related schedules and reports. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as advanced use of business and accounting-related computer applications.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Compiling and verifying the accuracy and validity of complex accounting transactions
  • Preparing reconciliations of various financial data
  • Posting and reviewing transactions to appropriate accounts
  • Preparing and reviewing financial schedules and reports
  • Maintaining financial records
  • Preparing budget revisions as needed
  • Providing guidance and work direction to other accounting personnel
Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Three years of job-related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

This role requires advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also need to have advanced use of business and accounting-related computer applications.
