The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is essential in the technical design, implementation, and upkeep of the core infrastructure that underpins our quantitative investment methodologies.

This role requires a deep understanding of the team’s tools, libraries, computing frameworks, and objectives to effectively create, implement, and resolve solutions.

The individual will manage project outcomes by leveraging advanced technologies to meet business needs, which include capacity planning, disaster recovery, data center oversight, and application support.

To excel in this position, you must be a self-driven professional with a rapid ability to learn new technologies, capable of efficiently managing multiple high-priority tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guarantee continuous access to high-performance computing resources for users.
  • Work closely with investment professionals to address current computing requirements and plan for future demands.
  • Manage operating system and core library upgrades, optimizing the computing environment.
  • Automate changes to the environment and scaling processes.
  • Oversee and improve existing server, network, and application configurations, integrating new hardware seamlessly.
  • Anticipate and enhance the enterprise systems infrastructure to meet user and business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the Infrastructure Service teams.
  • Deliver 24/7 IT service support to business units, including on-call responsibilities and weekend maintenance duties.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience; experience in financial services is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Linux administration, with Redhat or Ubuntu certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Office 365).
  • 3+ years of experience with VMware, Windows Servers, SAN, and server hardware.
  • Proficiency in configuration and automation tools such as systemd, Puppet, Chef, GitLab Runner, Jenkins.
  • Strong programming capabilities in Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
  • Demonstrated Linux expertise (Apache, Bind, ipfwadm/iptables, etc.).
  • Familiarity with integrated Windows and Linux environments (Kerberos, Centrify, Active Directory).
  • A solid background in IT operations and engineering, preferably within financial services.
  • Technical proficiency, effective communication skills, project management capabilities, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
