Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned executive to lead our Mid-Market Transformation Program. As the Accountable Executive, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the program, aligning with our business case, OKRs, and KPIs. Your expertise will drive the establishment of a governance structure, preparation of the business case, and approval of budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a governance structure and obtain approval from Co-Sponsors.
  • Prepare the initiative's business case, defining scope, objectives, budget, and timelines.
  • Approve budgets and timelines for Workstreams in the Program.
  • Maintain a Program Culture that fosters alignment, engagement, and recognition, embracing empathy and collaboration.
  • Provide direction and oversight to ensure successful delivery of initiative objectives, including benefits realization.
  • Approve mandatory Program Management artifacts, such as charters, governance, and management plans.
  • Hold Workstream/Project Leads and senior stakeholders accountable for realizing benefits defined in the Business Case/OKRs/KPIs.
  • Understand and monitor the Program/Project risk profile, ensuring all issues and key risks are addressed.
  • Monitor aggregated progress of Workstreams and Projects.
  • Champion the initiative across BMO.
  • Manage executive-level stakeholder expectations.
  • Escalate issues and risks to Executive Sponsors when time/cost/scope objectives are exceeded.
  • Update regularly and request approvals from Executive Sponsors, as applicable.
  • Concur on leadership roles, hiring, and staffing decisions within the Program.
  • Prepare the agenda for the Steering Committee and Decision Forum, and chair supporting routines.
  • Support the Accountable Program Director in overcoming resistance to the initiative, clarifying business priorities, and resolving escalated risks and issues.
Qualifications
  • Typically 9+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seasoned expert with extensive industry knowledge.
  • Technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation.
