Job Summary

The Wound Care Registered Nurse position at St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a dynamic opportunity for a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team. As a member of our wound care department, you will provide exceptional care to patients with complex wounds, pressure ulcers, and ostomies.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and families, incorporating patient-centered care principles.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Act as a clinical resource for skin and wound care, offering in-services and bedside teaching to nursing staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required.
  • Credentialed by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) as a Certified Wound & Ostomy Specialist (CWOCN) or in progress.
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy.
