Job Summary

The Wound Ostomy department at St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join their team. As a Wound Care Registered Nurse, you will provide direct care to patients with complex wounds, pressure ulcers, and ostomies, utilizing evidence-based practices and protocols to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Implement and evaluate wound care treatments, including debridement, dressing changes, and topical therapies.
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and families, incorporating patient-centered care principles.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and promote seamless transitions.
  • Act as a clinical resource for skin and wound care, offering in-services and bedside teaching to nursing staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and be credentialed by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) as a Certified Wound & Ostomy Specialist. You will also hold a current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License, and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
