McCarter & English, LLP is currently in search of a patent associate specializing in chemistry, ideally possessing an advanced degree in the field. This role is available across various office locations.

Candidates should have a professional background of 2-6 years as a patent attorney or patent agent.

Applicants are expected to hold an advanced degree in organic chemistry or have substantial industrial experience, with a minimum of five years in organic chemistry.

Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional academic qualifications and have a solid track record in drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to chemistry.

In addition to being admitted to practice in at least one State bar, candidates should be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D., along with outstanding writing, interpersonal, and communication skills, and will have significant experience in the preparation and prosecution of chemistry patent applications.
