Vascular Technician Position at Cleveland Clinic

In the role of Vascular Technician, you will collaborate with a skilled team to conduct non-invasive diagnostic procedures, including:

  • 12-lead Electrocardiograms
  • Holter Monitor Hook-ups
  • Event Monitor Hook-ups
  • Cardiac Stress Tests
  • EEG Testing

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Analyzing test outcomes and promptly informing physicians of any irregularities.
  • Ensuring the functionality of equipment and reporting any technical issues to Clinical Engineering.
  • Managing inventory of supplies necessary for testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting various duplex ultrasound examinations, including carotid, venous, arterial, aortoiliac, penile, and renal.
  • Preparing preliminary reports for physician review.
  • Consulting with vascular specialists regarding test interpretations and maintaining accurate records.
  • Documenting patient charge requisitions with appropriate coding.
  • Providing mentorship and support for vascular ultrasound trainees.
  • Facilitating testing for urgent cases as needed.
  • Maintaining compliance with continuing education requirements.
  • Overseeing documentation for vascular lab accreditation.
  • Ensuring all records and files are current and organized.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a two-year cardiovascular technologist program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to empathize with patients and their families.
  • Sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for accurate record-keeping.

Certifications Required:

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
