Responsibilities include:
- Performing basic EKG assessments and recognizing arrhythmias.
- Interpreting EKG changes related to electrophysiology procedures.
- Conducting arterial and venous pressure monitoring and sampling.
- Utilizing three-dimensional mapping systems and understanding cardiac resynchronization therapy principles.
- Documenting procedures accurately, including medications and supplies used.
- Observing patients and assisting in acute cardiac care situations.
- Maintaining aseptic techniques throughout all phases of procedures.
- Demonstrating proficiency in technical skills during procedures and managing equipment effectively.
- Preparing instruments for decontamination and ensuring cleanliness in the procedure rooms.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to safety protocols.
- Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to team communication.
- Showing initiative and a positive attitude while assisting colleagues.
- Adapting to departmental needs and maintaining punctuality.
Education Requirements:
- Completion of a cardiovascular lab technology program or equivalent education recognized by credentialing bodies.
Certifications:
- Preferred: Certified or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT).
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Work Experience:
- Preferred: Experience in a catheterization lab or interventional radiology.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, with the capacity to handle weights exceeding 50 pounds with assistance.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including stooping and pushing.
