About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our surgical team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting our medical staff in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care for Scrub Areas and Clean Utility Rooms: Replenish stock levels of solutions, distribute processed instrument sets, equipment, and supplies, and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of shelves, drawers, and counters.
  • Care for Special Surgical Equipment, Instruments, and Supplies: Monitor par levels and replenish stock, ensure every operating room has a Surgicounter on the dock, and clean the Surgicounter during room turnover.
  • Maintain Cleanliness, Organization of Stock Room, Equipment Room, and Other Storage Areas: Ensure timely documentation of specimen collection and transportation to the Pathology Department.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
