Medical Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team at Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center. Our organization is dedicated to providing high-quality, culturally sensitive healthcare to low-income residents of Washington and Yamhill Counties.
About the Role
This full-time position involves providing primary care medical services to patients in accordance with training, experience, and licensure. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic medical team, participating in direct patient care and providing continuous, comprehensive healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
• Participate in direct patient care, including family planning, newborn care, pediatrics, and general adult care
• Meet minimum patient care productivity requirements as set by the Center
• Provide all necessary documentation in the medical record, including education, medications, referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up
• May assist in organizing and participating in special clinics, such as the migrant camp program
• Provide day-to-day clinical supervision of support staff
• Participate in case management review and discussion as needed
• Assist in implementing plans to meet the objectives of the annual 'Health Plan'
• Participate in chart audits to assess the success of the QA/QI program
• Participate in medical staff, OB, QA/QI meetings, and other committees within the Center
• Provide supervision of students and residents in the healthcare professions
• Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
The ideal candidate will have completed a family nurse practitioner or physician assistant training program approved by the State of Oregon. Licensure by the State of Oregon Board of Nursing or Board of Medical Examiners, as well as DEA registration, is also required.
