POSITION OVERVIEW
The Inventory Control and Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the inventory management system, ensuring that all items are systematically received and accounted for.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Collaborate with the Warehouse Clerk and Purchasing Agent to develop a comprehensive reorder list for management approval.
- Access and manage purchase orders generated by the inventory system.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding orders from vendors.
- Accurately receive and log inventory into the management software.
- Label and categorize inventory items effectively.
- Prepare and maintain weekly receiving reports.
- Manage the allocation and billing of inventory to various stores.
- Keep stores informed about back orders and pending shipments.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Plan and execute quarterly inventory counts.
- Handle monthly invoicing related to departmental service requests.
- Support the Purchasing Agent in procurement activities for the department and projects.
- Track and oversee incoming shipments for projects.
- Coordinate fleet maintenance, repairs, and parts procurement.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least two years of experience in inventory management and procurement.
- Understanding of inventory par levels.
- Familiarity with import procedures.
- Proficient in using inventory management systems.
- Experience with valuation reporting.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
