Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager will play a key role in the execution of the daily operating plan and management of a multi-temperature, technology-driven, highly customer-focused warehouse. This position requires a strong leader who can provide direction and leadership to the Transportation Manager and Warehouse Manager, ensuring 100% compliance with company processes and annual performance goals are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and ensure a safe working environment for all employees in a 24/7 warehouse environment
• Provide direction and leadership to the Transportation Manager and Warehouse Manager
• Execute company processes successfully to ensure 100% compliance, ensure annual performance goals are met or exceeded
• Participate in the development of budgets, P&L Statements
• Present at customer and employee meetings
• Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale, and engagement
• Ensure quality standards are achieved for all goods shipped and received
• Promptly solve problems to the maximum satisfaction of our customers
• Participate in, contribute to, and potentially lead various committees, such as quality and safety
• Travel up to 20% for annual meetings or other Distribution Centers as needed
• Be a champion of change, contribute to the strategic direction of facility initiatives
• Willingness to relocate throughout the organization for promotional opportunities

Requirements:

• College degree in business, finance, economics, or operations-related discipline
• 5-7+ years of related industry experience
• Self-motivated and disciplined team player
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment
• Sound organizational skills, capacity to prioritize and multi-task to ensure deadlines are met
• Exhibit a sense of urgency and focus on results
• Demonstrate business and financial acumen, experience managing budgets and P&L statements
• Professional self-presentation skills, ability to interact effectively at all levels
• Proven track record of developing successful customer/business partnerships
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively, and respond appropriately
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Excel skills
• Willing to relocate as needed to any of Martin Brower locations
• This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• Food Distribution experience a plus
