Position Overview
Baptist Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to become a vital part of our Medical/Surgical unit at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This role is for a Full-Time night shift position with a flexible schedule.
On this unit, RNs typically manage a patient ratio of 6:1, ensuring comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients who require specialized attention.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical unit, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs through the nursing process.
- Organizing and supervising care delivered by support staff.
- Coordinating care with ancillary services and involving patients and their families in the development of personalized care plans.
- Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions and care plans.
- Advocating for patients and providing care for a variety of medical, surgical, and chronic conditions, including minor injuries and illnesses.

Educational Requirements
Associate's Degree in Nursing is required, with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.
- Experience in telemetry is advantageous.
- Previous hospital experience is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification is preferred.
- Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) certification is preferred.
- A valid Registered Nurse license is required.
