About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Director of Engineering to join our team at Sage Hospitality Group. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering departments of our hotels in San Francisco, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement emergency programs to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees.
  • Manage the maintenance and repair of all hotel equipment and physical structures, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and train a team of engineers and maintenance staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and manage the department's budget and capital expenditure plan, ensuring that we are operating within approved budget constraints.
  • Coordinate renovation projects, defining the scope and cost of the work, and overseeing the general contractor and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a related position, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of building management and engineering, including plumbing, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical systems, boilers, and other relevant areas.
  • Excellent management and communication skills, with the ability to provide information and services to hotel management and guests.
  • Ability to analyze activities and information, and make logical conclusions.
