Warehouse Operations Supervisor

- Oversee the processing and requisitioning of supplies, ensuring efficient delivery and packaging of materials for shipment.
- Manage and coordinate warehouse staff and operations, focusing on receipt, storage, and maintenance to achieve productivity targets and operational goals.
- Facilitate training for new and existing employees covering essential topics such as safety protocols, warehouse policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve discrepancies in shipping, receiving, and inventory management. Investigate errors and implement corrective measures.
- Develop work schedules that encompass work assignments, training sessions, breaks, overtime, and coverage for absences.
- Handle personnel complaints and grievances, ensuring adherence to company policies and effective resolution.
- Support the Operations Supervisor in crafting plans for process enhancements.
- Assist in gathering productivity and reliability metrics for management review.
- Complete daily sanitation tasks and manage end-of-shift documentation.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness in accordance with company standards.
- Regularly communicate potential issues and changes to the Operations Supervisor.
- Act as the Operations Supervisor's backup when necessary.
- Review and authorize employee time and attendance records.
- Address performance issues through appropriate corrective actions and terminations.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required; pursuing a college degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to high performance standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience operating reach trucks is essential.
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, and terminology.
- Knowledge of requisition, invoice, and other warehouse documentation terminology.
- Experience with warehouse equipment, including forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF Guns/Scanners.
- Must successfully complete all preliminary employment checks (e.g., background check and drug screening).
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to be trained on 49-CFR DOT Dangerous Goods transportation and IATA Dangerous Goods air transportation.
- Exhibit effective time management skills.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Conduct necessary research as required.
- Demonstrate strong presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
- Critical thinking abilities are necessary.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Work involves light to medium physical activity, including frequent walking to complete tasks.
- Occasional lifting of moderate weights is required.
- Work activities occur both indoors and outdoors.
- Potential exposure to hazardous conditions, including proximity to moving machinery.
- Work in cold environments, such as freezers, may be required.
- Equipment includes desktop computers, fax machines, copiers, desk phones, and cell phones.
- Systems utilized include Outlook, Excel, and Word.
