Emergency Veterinary Technician

MedVet is a leading provider of emergency and specialty veterinary care, with a nationwide presence. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Emergency Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality patient care in our fast-paced emergency department. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in veterinary medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:- Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather additional information as necessary
- Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment
- Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns
- Provide client education, including home care instructions, medications, and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
- Assist the DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures
- Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
- Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
- Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
This position has an initial hiring range of $28.25 to $49.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, vision and dental, HSA, FSA, and 401k with employer match. Additionally, we provide paid time off, shift differentials, and on-call pay.
