Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Oncology team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing outpatient oncology treatments, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing various medical procedures.
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques, providing emotional support and guidance throughout the treatment process.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required.
  • License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a similar role, preferably in an outpatient oncology setting.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Three years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an outpatient oncology setting.
