Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Elemental LED, INC. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring equipment, materials, and supplies for the company, while ensuring optimal inventory levels and effective purchasing policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analysis to determine material requirements and execute stocking activities to satisfy demands
  • Generate purchase orders for routine and extraordinary inventory purchases and ensure timely delivery
  • Evaluate and determine the most cost-effective shipping method necessary to meet the target
  • Monitor and coordinate MRO procurement as needed or requested
  • Maintain accurate purchase order, item master, and other data in the company ERP system
  • Research, recommend, and establish alternate sources for purchasing parts, supplies, and equipment as needed
  • Receive, review, process, maintain, and/or generate a variety of reports and records
  • Collaborate to resolve issues and problems that may occur, such as defects, damaged products, and coordinating vendor returns
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned function by identifying resource needs and recommending, documenting, and implementing policies and procedures
  • Work to limit the acquisition of surplus inventory and assist in the identification and mitigation of excess and obsolete inventories
  • Identify, respond to, and resolve issues, concerns, requests, and inquiries from internal staff and the public
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and work experience
  • A minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months of related exposure, internships, or full-time equivalent experience and training is required
  • APICS CPIM preferred
  • Knowledge of supply chain operations and inventory control program development and administration
  • Knowledge of basic purchasing principles, practices, procedures, regulations and record-keeping; standard purchasing, vendor, and price reference sources
  • Knowledge of local and regional suppliers and sources for parts, tools, and supplies
  • Knowledge of LEDs and power supplies, basic lighting and electrical terminology, photometry, and applications
  • Knowledge of techniques for providing a high level of customer service by effectively dealing with suppliers, vendors, contractors, customers, and internal staff
  • Ability to assist in developing and implementing goals, objectives, practices, policies, procedures, and work standards
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with applicable Company policies and procedures
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and successfully communicate both orally and in writing pertinent department policies and procedures
  • Ability to identify problems, research and analyze relevant information, and develop and present recommendations and justification for solution
