Job Title: Mental Health Clinician - ACT

Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with clients, families, and community resources to provide comprehensive mental health services.

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Clinician - ACT will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing individual, group, and family therapy. You will also facilitate short-term crisis intervention services, coordinate client care with other agency staff, and maintain accurate client records.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as short-term crisis intervention services
  • Coordinate client care with other agency staff and community resources
  • Maintain accurate client records and prepare diagnostic reports
  • Identify community resources to enhance client linkages and participate in client staffing discussions
  • Attend and testify at hearings related to client care, as needed
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work, along with at least one year of experience in a clinical or hospital psychiatric care setting. You must also be registered for supervision toward licensure with the LPC or LCSW Virginia Licensing Board within 90 days of employment.
