About the Role:

A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a credentialed medical professional with academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.

The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience and completed ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform and document ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of ultrasound technology and its applications in patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure effective patient care and communication.

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent (or higher)
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam AB, OB/GYN) or registry eligible with registration obtained within 18 months of date of hire
  • 0 years of experience as US technologist (sonographer)

Working Conditions:

This position is a PRN (as needed) role, which includes call on Friday nights and possibly other nights, as well as picking up shifts as needed for evenings, weekends and days.
