Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient's educational and lactation support needs, providing clinical support and resources to maternal patients across the entity and in the community.
  • Develop and implement programs related to patient educational needs, including lactation support and breastfeeding education.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Director, Clinical Manager, and Charge Nurses to ensure high-quality patient care and education.
  • Provide clinical resource expertise to clinicians and providers, serving as a model and coach for effective communication and teaching.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of prenatal and breastfeeding education classes, at the direction of leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Three years clinical experience in lactation support, mother/baby, and/or patient educational activities/programs.
  • Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
  • Basic Life Support (AHA) and Neonatal Resuscitation certifications.
  • Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification in a women's services specialty.
