Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ambulatory Profee Coder to join our team at Brockton Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coding and abstracting services for a wide range of ambulatory coding.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze medical information from medical records to accurately code diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with national coding guidelines and reimbursement requirements.
  • Consult with medical providers to clarify missing or inadequate record information and to determine appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes.
  • Provide thorough, timely, and accurate assignments of ICD 10-CM and/or CPT codes, reconciliation of charges, and ensure compliance with coding rules and regulations.
  • Query responsible provider when further documentation or clarification is needed, and ensure timely response.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
Requirements
  • Must have successfully completed an approved coding program or be a graduate of a Health Information Management program.
  • Must have at least a year of coding experience in Ambulatory.
  • Requires CCA, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA certification.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time 40 hour/week position. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment and will be required to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
