Ambulatory Profee Coder

We are seeking a skilled Ambulatory Profee Coder to join our team at Brockton Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coding and abstracting services for a wide range of ambulatory coding scenarios.

• Analyze medical information from medical records to accurately code diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with national coding guidelines and reimbursement requirements.
• Consult with medical providers to clarify missing or inadequate record information and determine appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes.
• Provide thorough, timely, and accurate assignments of ICD 10-CM and/or CPT codes, reconciliation of charges, and ensure compliance with coding rules and regulations.
• Query responsible providers when further documentation or clarification is needed, ensuring timely response.
• Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

• Must have advanced knowledge of ICD 10 and/or CPT coding and abstracting skills.
• Must score a minimum of 85% on a pre-employment coding test.
• Must have knowledge of reimbursement (Medicare and Medicaid) principles, medical terminology, the human disease process, anatomy, and physiology.
• Must be able to demonstrate good organizational skills, effective communication, both orally and in writing, and knowledge of computer software applications, including MS Office.
• Must have a certification such as CCA, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA.

• Must have successfully completed an approved coding program or a Health Information Management program.
• Must have at least a year of coding experience in Ambulatory.
