Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Host/Hostess to join our team at the Rail Stop Restaurant & Bar. This role is responsible for providing exceptional guest service, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet guests upon arrival, offering a choice of seating and escorting them to their table with a presentation of the menu.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dining room, including even distribution of tables for the team.
  • Communicate with the staff regarding special requests or needs of guests, including any allergies or dietary restrictions.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with menu items and related materials.
  • Ensure all menus are in pristine condition, free of stains.
  • Answer the telephone and respond to guest inquiries in a warm and genuine tone.
  • Assist team members as needed to promote a teamwork environment.

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours at a time.
  • Ability to walk/stand approximately 90% of shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English Language. A second language is desirable.
  • Ability to practice and adhere to all safety requirements.
