Job Title: News Content Strategist

We are seeking a talented News Content Strategist to join our team at WMTW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Westbrook, ME. As a News Content Strategist, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging and meaningful newscasts that captivate our audience.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and experienced producer to lead our newsroom in developing innovative content strategies. You will work closely with our team of anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff to bring our vision to life.

Responsibilities:
  • Select, research, and write compelling content for live newscasts to make them an unforgettable experience for viewers.
  • Collaborate with and guide reporters in story production to ensure high-quality content.
  • Coordinate creative vision with the team to deliver exceptional results.
  • Produce assigned newscasts, breaking news, and weather events.
Requirements:
  • Professional or college producing experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Able to coordinate multiple crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Ability to summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
  • Creative presentation style and ability to showcase all resources and elements.
  • High journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
  • Availability to work holidays, shifts including nights, weekends, and overnights, and flexibility with schedule to be available during breaking news.
Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
