SMS Staffing Inc. is actively seeking experienced Lead Warehouse Material Handlers.

Position Title: Lead Warehouse Material Handler

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Compensation: Starting at $21 (commensurate with experience)

Shift Schedule: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and mentor warehouse personnel, including scale operators and material handlers.
  • Organize, store, and allocate materials as instructed.
  • Facilitate the movement of materials to and from stock areas for assembly operations.
  • Generate and print move tickets utilizing pick lists.
  • Document work order numbers for processed pick slips.
  • Plan and assign tasks to warehouse and receiving handlers to ensure timely material distribution to production.
  • Maintain communication with production teams regarding any schedule adjustments.
  • Transfer finished goods from shipping areas to storage racks.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment, including ear and eye protection.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and comprehend all necessary warehouse documentation.
  • Familiarity with inventory management processes.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate inventory record-keeping.
  • Capability to obtain a forklift license.
  • Proficient in computer usage for inventory referencing.
  • Experience operating handcarts, pallet jacks, and order pickers.
