Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to join our team in Boston or DC. As a key member of our project engineering team, you will play a critical role in managing solar and energy storage projects from development to construction. Your expertise in project engineering, design, and optimization will drive our projects to successful completion and contribute to our goal of delivering clean, simple, and accessible energy to all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring designs are optimized to meet project schedules while minimizing costs.
  • Engineering and Design: Lead energy modeling using Helioscope and PVSYST, review and approve procurement specifications, and provide decisive technical support throughout the project phases.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate project risks by maintaining a project risk register and communicating risks to stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate project-level engineering activities between teams and provide guidance and support to external engineering teams.
  • Process Improvement: Lead process improvement initiatives and develop relationships with vendors and engineering consultants.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or equivalent educational/certification background.
  • At least 4 years of experience in designing, optimizing, and supporting ground-mounted PV projects, preferably with tracker systems.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of DG/Community Solar and its differences from C&I and Utility Scale Solar.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling, BESS design, civil/electrical design, foundation testing, and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of NEC, IBC, and IFC codes, with experience leading code interpretation and developing engineering standards.
  • Skilled in PVSYST and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of power engineering principles.
  • Experience managing PV projects and portfolios in collaboration with external engineering firms.
  • NABCEP or EIT certification preferred.
  • Strong quality management experience with the ability to address construction challenges and drive project success.
