Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Mediko Inc. in Arlington County Detention Center. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and work closely with our physician to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to patients in a correctional setting, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  • Conduct medical history interviews and prepare medical history and physical reports.
  • Assist the physician in conducting sick call and provide emergency medical assistance as needed.
  • Maintain control of all medications and drugs on hand in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures regarding the Medical Department are followed.
  • Complete reports and medical forms in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure the medical office is clean and properly stocked, and all medications and supplies are promptly ordered.
Requirements
  • Completion of an Accredited Nursing Program leading to licensure with the ability to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • High school graduate or equivalent, and must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Active, unencumbered state/commonwealth Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience, preferably in a correctional center.
  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).
