Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Mediko Inc. in Arlington County Detention Center. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and work closely with our physician to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to patients in a correctional setting, working closely with our physician to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Schedule and conduct medical appointments, including dental and medical check-ups, as ordered by the physician.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  • Conduct medical history interviews and prepare medical history and physical reports.
  • Assist the physician in conducting sick call and providing emergency medical assistance.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment.
  • Ensure that all medications and supplies are properly stored and managed.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest medical practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • Active, unencumbered state/commonwealth Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience, preferably in a correctional center.
  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).
  • Combination of education and experience equivalent to these qualifications may be substituted.
