Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Service Mechanic to join our team at Workbox Staffing. As a Trailer Service Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining trailers to ensure they are safe and operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair wheel ends, including wheel seals, tires, cam shafts, slack adjusters, brakes, and other components.
  • Experience with brake systems and trailer suspensions is essential.
  • Understanding of 12VDC electrical systems is required.
  • MIG welding skills are necessary for structural repairs.
  • Replace tires and perform electrical work, including marker lights, wiring, and troubleshooting.
  • Assemble landing legs and braces, and maintain suspension systems.
  • Adjustable and non-adjustable radius rods, spring hangers/equalizers, and miscellaneous brackets require attention.
  • Replace and repair air valves, brake chambers, air lines/hoses, and troubleshoot ABS systems.
  • Perform MIG structural welding, cutting, inserting, and other structural repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, and adhere to high productivity standards.
  • Perform vehicle preventative maintenance as outlined, and check and change tires as needed.
  • Maintain records and documentation, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management team.
Requirements
  • Diligent, punctual, and detail-oriented with strong logical thinking, analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized.
  • Lifting ability up to 70lbs.
