About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mohs Tissue Technician to join our dynamic team at the University of California. As a key member of our dermatology laboratory, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic analysis, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes and staining stations.
  • Collaborate with dermatologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement effective laboratory protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements
  • Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 months of Mohs Technician laboratory experience.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of CLIA laboratory protocol and laboratory safety standards.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active membership to American Society of Mohs Histotechnology and National Society of Histotechnology.
  • Mohs Technician Certificate.
