Prepared Foods Department Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prepared Foods Department Supervisor to join our team at Whole Foods Market - Columbus Circle. As a key member of our prepared foods team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and delegate tasks to prepared foods team members, ensuring seamless execution of daily operations.
- Collaborate with the prepared foods trainer to develop and implement training programs that foster a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
- Assist in the training of new team members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated department, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Open and close the department according to established procedures, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Ensure all team members receive necessary breaks and communicate concerns to the team leader and associate team leader.
- Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution, driving sales growth and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, promoting a culture of excellence within the team.
- Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, and responding promptly to customer needs and questions.
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
- Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, ensuring team members are equipped to excel in their roles.
- Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Market's vision and goals, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
- 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a prepared foods or food service environment.
- Extensive knowledge of prepared foods team procedures and policies, with a strong understanding of regulatory and safety requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills, with the ability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner.
- Strong demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with proficiency in email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, with the ability to stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures up to 90°F, and wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
