Position Overview: Under direct supervision, this role involves the setup and organization of serving lines and dining areas within the college's food service facilities. Work Schedule: This position encompasses nine months at one dining facility and three months at another.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six months of relevant experience in food service operations, preferably in an institutional setting.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of cleanliness protocols and sanitation regulations.
  • Willingness to learn food protection and handling procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer service abilities.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Commitment to diversity and serving a diverse community.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in food service operations is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transporting trays and food supplies from the kitchen to dining areas.
  • Stocking and organizing food items, utensils, and supplies at serving stations.
  • Serving food items such as salads, entrees, and beverages to customers.
  • Preparing and serving hot and cold beverages.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing tables and dining areas according to health standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of counters and equipment.
  • Learning and adhering to safety and food handling procedures.
  • Operating cash registers to process customer transactions accurately.
  • Monitoring cash drawer and ensuring proper cash handling.
  • Assisting with catering orders by preparing and packaging food items.
  • Setting up dining areas for events and serving guests as needed.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
