Job Overview: The role involves ensuring the cleanliness of all dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and utensils in accordance with company sanitation standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace for all staff and guests.
  • Properly scraping, racking, and stacking glassware and utensils in the dishwasher.
  • Cleaning pots, dishes, and other kitchen items using manual or mechanical methods.
  • Disposing of waste and recyclables appropriately from the kitchen area.
  • Restocking cleaned glassware and utensils as needed.
  • Adhering to dishwashing procedures and maintaining a cleaning schedule for the dish machine.
  • Keeping the workstation and equipment in pristine condition and contributing to overall kitchen cleanliness.
  • Assisting in the stocking, cleaning, and closing of kitchen stations as directed.
  • Restocking or breaking down the workstation at the end of the shift.
  • Supporting kitchen staff with preparation tasks.
  • Cross-training on prep stations and assisting colleagues to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Staying informed about the company’s products and updates.
  • Alerting management of low inventory and suggesting new supplies; communicating any concerns or opportunities.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by management, with a sense of urgency.
  • Understanding and implementing all safety and sanitation protocols as outlined in the safety program, reporting any incidents to management.
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures as detailed in the Staff Member Handbook.

Requirements:

  • Preferred six months to one year of dishwashing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with various departments and external contacts.
  • Capability to manage a heavy workload and multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperature changes.
  • Subject to moderate to high ambient noise levels.
  • Frequently required to work in narrow aisles or passageways.
  • Potential hazards include cuts from broken glass and metal cans, burns, and slipping or tripping.
  • Regular handwashing and/or glove usage required.
