Key Responsibilities:
Learn to conduct necessary inspections and preventive maintenance under the supervision of fleet technician II & III or fleet manager on vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness throughout the fleet's lifecycle.

Gain experience in performing FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment, under the guidance of fleet technician II & III or fleet supervisor or manager, in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

(This includes all state-mandated inspections and frequencies)
Acquire skills to execute quality preventive maintenance inspections according to company standards under the supervision of fleet technician II & III, fleet supervisor, or manager on all fleet vehicles.
Learn to carry out quality maintenance repairs under the guidance of fleet technician II & III or fleet supervisor or manager to enhance safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles.
Assist in performing maintenance repairs on all vehicles under the supervision of fleet technician II & III or fleet supervisor or manager, including inspections, scheduled repairs, malfunctions, and road-call repairs in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
Address all driver vehicle inspection report issues promptly and accurately under the guidance of fleet technician II & III or fleet supervisor or manager.
Diagnose malfunctions and execute repairs to manufacturer specifications, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition systems, exhaust systems (including regeneration systems), intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems, and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems under the supervision of fleet technician II & III or fleet supervisor or manager.
Follow procedures for documenting all work performed on work orders using the complaint, cause, and correction format under the guidance of fleet technician II & III or fleet supervisor or manager.
Learn and develop proficiency in Sysco computer programs under the supervision of fleet technician II & III or fleet supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:
Preferred Education:

High school diploma or GED
Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred, not mandatory)

Preferred Experience:

Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training from a 2-year institution
No prior experience required

Preferred Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:

Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Brake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ASE certifications; Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (preferred but not required)
609 HVAC Refrigeration Certification
Familiarity with computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers

Technicians are required to own and provide all necessary tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools will be supplied by Sysco) to perform all maintenance inspections, repairs, and diagnostics.
