POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Scheduler is accountable for the management, enhancement, and upkeep of designated project timelines. This role involves overseeing the schedule file management system and ensuring accurate posting and reporting of schedules and resource allocations as necessary. The Lead Scheduler is also responsible for the configuration of Earned Value Management (EVM) data within the assigned project timelines as required. The position emphasizes the standardization of schedules and EVM data in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Scheduling Manager and Master Scheduler.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
  • Enforcing adherence to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring the development and maintenance of project timelines.
  • Assisting in the creation and upkeep of master schedules for work centers.
  • Supporting and maintaining supplemental schedules relevant to the projects.
  • Formulating and sustaining long-term production resource plans.
  • Complying with scheduling and resource planning standards.
  • Developing and managing schedule-related EVM data and documentation.
  • Directly supervising the Project Scheduler(s) assigned to the role.
  • Aiding in the creation and maintenance of schedule-related EVMS data and documentation.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address information requests from customers and stakeholders.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position directly supervises 1 to 3 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in alignment with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities encompass interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving complaints and issues. The Lead Scheduler is expected to demonstrate leadership qualities that reflect the mission, vision, and values of the Company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree with at least four (4) years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is required, or at least three years of progressive responsibility within a Planning department.
  • Experience in a complex multi-product, build-to-order production environment, specifically in creating project and master schedules and resource plans, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and network scheduling software (e.g., Primavera) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of EVM principles is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to work in both office and industrial settings.
  • Preferably knowledgeable about shipbuilding workflows, material flows, and production processes.
  • Familiarity with Navy and Coast Guard scheduling and performance reporting requirements is preferred.
  • Understanding of shipbuilding workflows, material processing, and basic shipbuilding knowledge is advantageous.
