Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Facilities Operator to join our team at Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc. This is a site-based role that requires a strong understanding of mission critical systems and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure in a mission critical data center.
  • Monitor and operate equipment to provide 100% uptime of the data center.
  • Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing/piping equipment, machinery, and controls located in the interior and exterior of the building.
  • Monitor operations and conduct routine and ongoing assessments of the building systems operations and performance.
  • Oversee vendors/contractors in the execution of annual OEM preventative maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, technical training, or degree.
  • Certified Mission Critical Operator (CMCO) certification is desired.
  • At least 5 years of related work experience in a technical, critical environment operation.
  • Operating Engineer or other applicable licenses and Universal CFC's license.
  • Ability to understand and interpret various design and construction documents relating to critical sites, spaces, and systems.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and software such as MS Office and email.
  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in working on energized equipment (hot work).
  • Ability to maintain a professional bearing and calm demeanor under duress during service emergencies.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of mission critical systems, including HVAC, standby emergency power, uninterruptable power supplies, computer room air conditioning/handling, associated infrastructure, and the interdependency of these systems in delivering 100% uptime.
  • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms.
  • Strong understanding of mission critical system operations, maintenance, engineering, and design principles, practices, and procedures.
